    EKE 097-1:

    The equipment has been designed specifically to meet a demand for de – aired water for use with

    •    Soil Testing Apparatus for reduction or time and labor to consolidate soil samples
    •    For Simultaneous flushing of many hydraulic piezpmeter lines in dams and earth works to considerably reduce labor and disturbance at the top ends

    It is particularly important that only de-aired water is used in the pore pressure measurement system. Any dissolved air in the water leads to error in measurement of pore pressure, particularly at low pressure.

    It is a compact self contained unit, will de-air quickly and efficiently , reduce levels of  dissolved oxygen, acceptable for geotechnical test methods. Air is removed from the water by a vacuum system which continuously circulates the water in the tank

    The unit is supplied with Perspex Water Container which will hold a maximum of 15 ltr. of water. Input and output lines are fixed with 4 mm (approx.) and 6 mm (approx.) ID of plastic tubing respectively.

    EKE 104:

    The Direct shear test is carried out with an apparatus consisting of a square divided into two halves. The specimen, contained in the box , is suitable to a constant normal load while an increasing horizontal force is applied to one of the sections of the shear box. This force causes a shear failure along the junction between the box sections. The shear force and the normal load are measured  directly. The rate of strain is adjusted by the speed of the horizontal force applied. The loading unit has V- strips on which the shear box housing rests. The precalibrated load yoke helps counter balance the loading system. The load yoke with direct and through level system for applying normal load upto 8 Kg/cm² capacity, fixtures for proving ring , brackets fro holding consolidation and strain dial gauges are provided. The lead screw connected to the  shear box housing helps application of shear stress.

    The test covers the determination of consolidated drained shear strength of a soil material in direct shear. EKE 2060 Automatic Direct/Residual Shear Test Machine is motorized and floor mounted. Supplied with carriage assembly load hanger and integral 9:1, 10:1 and 11:1 lever loading device as standard. The beam loading device which is used to amplify the vertical load on the shear box assembly can receive up to 5 kN (5000 N).

    The machine accepts 60 mm square , 100 mm dia. round, 100 mm dia. round and 2.5 inc. dia. round shear box assembles. All shear box assembles are designed to contain water that surrounds the specimen. The assembles consists of a shear box with a rigid wall square or round hole complete with a vertical loading pad grooved back face a grooved retaining plate, 2 pcs porous plates,  2 pcs plane grids and 2 pcs. Perforated grids.

    The shear machine is driven by high resolution servomotor and  gear box assembly. Speed range is fully stepless   variable over the range 0.00001 to 9.99999 mm/min for both direction (forward and reverse). After test the reverse speed is 10 mm/min) . 5 kN load cell is used for load measurement . 10 x 0.001 mm sensitivity linear potentiometric transducers are used for vertical and horizontal displacement measurements respectively. Displacement limits are controlled by limit switch.

    EKE 0773:

    The Clegg Impact Soil Tester provides a means for measuring and controlling soil strength and consolidation levels during trench reinstatement. It is also used to confirm compaction of over wide areas of ground, identifying poorly compacted areas and ineffective rolling of materials.

    The Tester consists of a 4.5 kg compaction hammer operating within a vertical guide tube. When the hammer is released from a fixed height it falls through the tube and strikes the surface under test, declaring at a rate determined by the stiffness of the material within the region of impact. A precision accelerometer mounted on the hammers feed  its output to a hand held digital readout unit which registers the declaration in units of Impact Value (IV) over a typical measuring range of 1 to 60 IV. The IV indicates soil strength and shows good correlation with CBR test results.

    The unit is supplied in a transit case with calibration certificate and operating instructions.

The testers reaction is recorded on a digital readout on a scale of 0-100 Impact Values, which correlate exactly to Clegg Impact Values or CIV

    Consists of a torque head, adjustable in height by means of a lead screw rotated by a drive wheel to enable the vane to be lowered into the specimen, rotation of the vane is by means of an electric motor which operates a worm gear arrangement turning the upper end of a calibrated torsion spring, The vane shaft is attached through the hollow upper shaft to a reset table pointer which indicates the angle of torque on a dial graduated in degrees, The dial reading multiplied by spring factor gives the torque,
