    Accelerated Polish Stone Value Apparatus

    Accelerated Polish Stone Value Apparatus
    Ref. Standard BS 812-114

    EKE 467:

The polished stone value provides a measure of the resistance of road, aggregates to polishing under the action of vehicle tyres on a road surface, paving stones & paving blocks and gives a measure of the resistance to skidding . It is a fundamental test which is often used when selecting aggregates for road surfacing material.

Specimens are manufactured in accurately machined and matched moulds; they are then removed from the moulds and located on the ‘Road Wheel’. The wheel is now rotated and enters in contact with solid rubber tyre, spring loaded.

Abrasive charges are continuously fed by mechanical feeders at fixed speed. Feed rtes for corn emery are 20-34 g/min. Feed rate for flour emery is 2-4 gm/min. The water is supplied at a controlled rate of 20-34 ml/min & 5-8 ml/min respectively for Corn emery & flour emery through a water container.

Road wheel speed is 315 to 325 rpm & applied load on specimens 715 to 735 N

Used water and abrasives are collected in a large removable tray. Electrical supply is protected by the thermal cutouts and an emergency stop button.

Suitable for operation on 220 Volt, 50 Hz, Single Phase , AC Supply.

    Skid Resistance Tester

    Skid Resistance Tester

    EKE 468:

    •    Used to determine the surface friction of the curved aggregates polished surface concrete pavements and natural rocks
    •    Suitable to measure the skid resistance for asphalt pavement.
    •    The mechanism is based on the energy loss from the rubber piece while sliding over the specimen. The amount of resistance is measured and transferred to a nearly friction less pointer. This helps providing precise and accurate results.
    •    Supplied with 6 pieces of rubber sliders and a specimen holder.

    Technical Specifications:

    •    Measuring Surface Friction
    •    Free fall pendulum
    •    Rubber Sliders

    Sand Equivalent Test Set

    Sand Equivalent Test Set

    EKE 469:

The test is used to determine the relative portion of undesirable clay like or plastic fines and dusts that occur in granular soils and fine aggregates passing the No. 4 sieve
